ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHY

Ann Marie Zimmermann has been practicing law in the Imperial Valley since 1992. After 12 years of working with a larger firm, she opened her solo practice in 2004 with the mission to provide top-notch legal services in a client-oriented and caring environment. She has represented clients successfully in a wide range of civil matters, from simple real estate transfers to lengthy jury trials.


Ms. Zimmermann grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, and graduated from Punahou high school. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating cum laude from its honors English program. As an undergraduate, she was active in a number of extra-curricular activities and was awarded a grant to assist professors at the British Library in London, England.


After moving to California, she worked as a paralegal and law clerk in San Diego and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Zimmermann served on the Law Review and the Appellate Moot Court Board. She also clerked for the Fourth District Court of Appeals and received the American Jurisprudence Award, Oral Advocacy Award and Order of the Barristers honors. Following graduation, she interned in Washington D.C. with the National Wildlife Federation.


Since moving to the Imperial Valley in 1992, Ms. Zimmermann has been active in the Valley’s mock trial and teen court programs, taught paralegal courses at the Imperial Valley College, and was a founding member of the Imperial Valley Breakfast Rotary Club. She has been active on the board and served as president of the Imperial County Bar Association and represented the Imperial Valley as a Delegate to the State Bar Conference of Delegates. She is married and has one daughter.
